For many who have retired, earning some extra cash can be a way to keep themselves busy, it can allow retirees to treat themselves that little bit more or it can help towards the bills. Pet sitting

Pet sitting is a great way to make some money, particularly if you are fond of animals – usually, pet sitting involves visiting the pet owner’s home, making sure the pet is fed, watered, safe and exercised.

House sitting

For people who are going on holiday, having a house sitter
to keep a watchful eye on their property can be imperative, especially if they
have pets who they do not want to send to a kennel.

Whether you want to keep it local or use house sitting to travel the world, it can be a great way to earn some extra money, save on your bills and see some different areas of the world.  

Life modelling

Becoming a life model can be a good source of extra income when you have some free time. Art colleges are regularly looking for life models.

Don’t worry, you don’t need to have a toned physique for this job – in fact, art students welcome a diverse range of body shapes.

Rent out your home or parking space

Use your property to make a little bit of extra cash – there are multiple ways that you can accomplish this, including renting your entire home or a room on Airbnb, this could be just for when you are going on holiday or whilst you are still in the home if you would enjoy the company of a lodger.

Alternatively, if you have an unused parking space and you are near either an airport or a train station, you could rent the space out to local commuters or to people who are going on holiday and do not want to leave their car at the expensive airport carparks.

Online surveys

Take online surveys on websites such as Swagbucks or Survey Spotter -this is an easy way to make some money whilst in the comfort of your own home. You can choose how many surveys you do, of course, the more you do, the more money you will make.

Sell unwanted goods

Most people accumulate a lot of things over the years and a lot of it you will never use. So why not make some cash selling some of the things you no longer need to free up some space at the same time. As everyone knows, one person’s trash is another person’s treasure.

Car boots sales are perfect for selling an assortment of goods, or why not try selling online. There are many websites that you can use, including eBay, Depop, Gumtree, and Facebook Marketplace.

Get creative

Do you have a creative side? Are you good at knitting, jewellery making, or pottery? If so you might be able to cash in on your talent and raise some money selling your masterpieces. There are many websites online where you would be able to sell your goods such as Etsy or get down to your local craft fair for a more social way of selling crafts.
